Logistics Management Technician- TCC

Program Description

The Logistics Management Technician certificate program is designed to provide an overview of the logistics process from product idea conception to product delivery to the consumer. Topics include basic fundamentals of supply chain management, including a general knowledge of current management practices in logistics management, effective materials management, obtaining low cost and quality products, and transportation.

Occupational Trends

According to EMSI data, logistics managers is expected to increase 3.1% in Georgia and 4.5% nationwide. Employment growth will be driven by the important role of logistics in an increasingly global economy.

Job/Career Description

Logistics managers analyze and coordinate an organization's supply chain-the system that moves a product from supplier to consumer. They manage the entire life cycle of a product, which includes how a product is acquired, distributed, allocated, and delivered. Logistics and supply chain managers oversee activities including purchasing, shipping and transportation, inventory, warehousing, and delivery. Graduates of this program may find entry-level employment as logistics coordinators in multiple industries.

Admissions Requirements

Must be 16 years of age
Completion of high school diploma or GED and submission of official transcript required to apply
Achievement of minimum program admission scores in Reading, English, and Math
Transfer of previous post-secondary credits will be determined by the Office of Enrollment Services

Student Performance/Graduation Requirements

Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses to graduate.
