Program Description

The mission of the Atlanta Technical College Radiologic Technology Program is to prepare competent entry-level radiographers able to function in the healthcare community.

1. Students will be clinically competent
1.1. Students will apply proper positioning skills
1.2. Students will select proper technical factors
1.3. Students will properly utilize correct radiation protection techniques (ALARA)

2. Students will communicate effectively
2.1. Students will demonstrate good written communication skills
2.2. Students will demonstrate good age specific oral communication skills

3. Students will demonstrate good critical thinking and problem solving skills
3.1. Students will adjust technical factors based on patient conditions.
3.2. Students will adapt standard procedures for non-routine patients.
3.3. Students will critique images to determine diagnostic quality

4. Students will demonstrate professional demeanor
4.1. Students will demonstrate proper work ethics
4.2. Students will demonstrate a high level of engagement while in the clinical site
