Atlanta Technical College offers both on-campus and online tutoring options:
Academic Success Center
The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides free and holistic tutorial support services. Tutors are trained in the Peer-led Team Learning (PLTL) model and offer tutorial services in Mathematics, English, Reading, and basic Microsoft Office. Located in room C2118, the Academic Success Center provides an open study area, face-to-face tutorial, Internet access, and various tutorial computer software.
The following is a list of rules that apply to the ASC –Lab and Advisement Services:
- All students must sign in before entering the lab and sign out before exiting.
- This is a learning environment, therefore please respect others, work quietly, and raise your hand for assistance.
- Children are not allowed in the lab.
- Food and Beverages are prohibited in the lab.
- Computers are for academic purposes only.
- The use of cell phones is prohibited in the lab. Staff members reserve the right to ask anyone using a cell phone to go outside of the lab.
- Profanity or the disrespect of others will not be tolerated. Disruptive students will be asked to leave and security will be called to intervene in extreme or volatile cases.
- Students should arrive on time for tutoring appointments and in the event of a needed cancellation, call 404-225-4628
- Do not leave your personal property unattended. Staff members are not responsible for any lost or stolen property.
- Violating any of the above stated rules may result in being removed or banned from the lab and/or advisement area.
Online Tutoring
Tutorial support is available by each instructor during designated office hours. Remediation/tutorial support may be teacher or student initiated depending on the student’s progress. Several programs of study offer services through peer counselors and mentors. Atlanta Technical College also offers math, English, reading, and study skills tutorials through the Academic Success Center. Located in room 2118, the Academic Success Center provides an open study area, face-to-face tutorial, Internet access, and various tutorial computer software.The Academic Success Center’s operating hours are Monday 9am – 4pm, Tuesday thru Wednesday 9am -6pm, Thursday9am – 8pm, and virtual sessions are conducted on Fridays from 9am-2pm (by appointment only with one of our F/T Academic Support Specialists)Students may make an appointment by visiting the center in person, emailingrlaws@atlantatech.edu, or calling 404-225-4862.
