Program Description

The Computer Information Systems Networking Specialist Degree program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing. Graduates will be competent in the technical areas of computer terminology and concepts, program design and development, and computer networking. Program graduates are qualified for employment as networking specialists.

Program Outcomes

1. Graduate will have the ability to maintain and repair personal computers, network hardware, associated peripheral equipment and software in support of WAN/LAN operations.
2. Graduate will have the ability to provide network technical support including but not limited to: installations, upgrades and configuration of file servers, tape back-up units, workstations, network printers, and software.
3. Graduate will have the ability to perform network troubleshooting to diagnose and isolate network PC related problems as well as file servers. Install and test network operating systems software, workstation applications and various hardware configurations.
4. Graduate will have the ability to Install and test network operating systems software, workstation applications and various hardware configurations.
5. Graduate will have the ability to perform network-based hardware and software repairs including, but not limited to: workstations, cabling, concentrators, hubs, routers, switches, file servers, and other related equipment.
