Graduation

Graduating from Atlanta Technical College is an important milestone, and we are proud to recognize your hard work and determination.

To be eligible to graduate with a degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit, students must:

  • Achieve regular program admission status.
  • Complete all required program/major course requirements.
  • Earn a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.
  • Complete a high school diploma or GED prior to graduation.
  • Be in good academic standing and free of all financial obligations to the College.
    • All college-owned items (books, laptops, equipment, etc.) must be returned.
  • Complete a minimum of 25% of coursework at Atlanta Technical College in the program of study (exemption exam credit does not apply).
  • Submit an Application for Graduation to the Registrar’s Office at least one semester prior to completion. 

Application for Graduation

  • A non-refundable $40 graduation fee is required at the time of application submission.
    • This administrative fee covers graduation processing, diploma printing/mailing, and commencement participation.

  • Important: Diplomas and certificates will not be ordered, and students will not be eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony until the fee is paid in full.
  • Students who apply after the published deadline risk:
    • Not being eligible to participate in the ceremony.
    • Not being listed in the commencement program.
    • Experiencing delays in receiving their credential.  

Graduating with Honors

Atlanta Technical College recognizes outstanding academic achievement at graduation.

  • Students graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher will be recognized as honors graduates.

  • Honors recognition is limited to students earning a diploma or degree.

  • Students completing technical certificate of credit programs are not eligible for honors distinction.

 

Honors graduates will be designated in the commencement program and recognized during the ceremony.

 

 

Graduation Application Deadlines

  • Summer Semester: June 15
  • Fall Semester: September 15
  • Spring Semester: February 15

Note: Admission to the College does not guarantee graduation eligibility. Students who are readmitted after a break in enrollment will be evaluated under the catalog in effect at the time of readmission.

Commencement Ceremony

Commencement is the celebration of academic achievement for Atlanta Technical College graduates. Dr. Victoria Seals, President, along with the faculty and staff, proudly honors the accomplishments of our graduates at this special event.

  • Commencement is held once a year at the end of the spring semester.
  • Students must first submit an Application for Graduation to be eligible.
  • Registration for commencement is separate from the graduation application.
  • A commencement participation fee is required and is non-refundable.
  • Students who submit their graduation application by the posted deadlines are guaranteed a program audit and timely inclusion in commencement materials.

Degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit are awarded after final academic review. Credentials are sent electronically via Parchment Transcript Services, with a printed copy mailed to graduates.
