Program Description
The Radiologic Technician Assistant program places emphasis on maintaining adequate supplies in exam rooms, handling of oxygen tanks, ability to process CR & DR, knowledge of PACS system, transporting patients to/from all imaging areas, greeting patients and assist in preparing the patients for exams, preparation of the examination rooms, and dismissing the patient after the exam is completed giving any special instructions needed.

Attendance at an in-person Anatomy & Physiology Exam and Essay session is required for admission and review of program competitive application in addition to the required completion of the HESI or TEAS test. The HESI and/or TEAS testing must be completed in-person via the ATC Testing Center.

Successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology I and Anatomy & Physiology I Lab, mandatory prior to enrolling in occupational courses.

Students must have their major identified as Radiologic Technologist Assistant prior to enrolling in the occupational courses (RADT1010 and IMSA1100).
Please Note:
Students who have completed the Atlanta Technical College Radiologic Technologist Assistant TCC certificate program, must apply and be accepted into the degree program within a year of completion to avoid having to repeat the RADT1010 course.
Blood and Airborne Pathogens
Students enrolled in Category I and II programs at Atlanta Technical College will be performing tasks in which there is a normal occurrence for exposure to blood, other potentially infectious body materials, and airborne pathogens.
These tasks will be performed in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical activities for each occupational training program/course. Students will be required to present documentation of Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis immunizations as a result of potential occupational exposure. Students should contact their program directors for more information.
