COVID-19 Updates

Due to COVID-19, on March 13, 2020 Atlanta Technical College ceased normal in person operations and transitioned to a virtual environment except for certain courses which began to meet under limited lab conditions in late April. In addition to this, below are several other operational changes that were made in special consideration of COVID-19. All changes will remain in effect through the end of the 2020 Summer Semester. Where contradictions exist between the below changes and the College's standard policies as presented in the catalog, these changes shall take priority in the March 13 - July 25 time frame.

Z Grades

"Z" grades were issued to students during the Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 semesters if they were unable to successfully complete their course or courses due to the COVID-19 Emergency. A grade of "Z" on the official transcript does not count towards GPA calculations or attempted hours.

Admissions Requirements

Admissions requirements for the 2020 Summer and Fall Semesters have been adjusted per the below guidelines:

No Accuplacer
Assessment/Placement test scores are waived for applicants applying to the summer and fall 2020 semesters. Applicants who earned a 2.6 cumulative high school GPA will be eligible to enter associate degree programs. Applicants who earned a 2.0 cumulative high school GPA will be eligible to enter all certificate and diploma programs.

Unofficial Transcripts
Unofficial high school and college transcripts will be accepted for summer and fall 2020 admissions for those who may experience difficulty obtaining an official transcript due to the COVID-19 Emergency. Official documents will need to be provided to the institution by the end of the spring 2021 semester or prior to program completion, which ever comes first.

Competitive Admissions
The following changes have been made to the admissions process for Nursing, PTA, Radiology, & Dental Hygiene for Fall, 2020:
- The deadline has been extended to June 15th for Nursing, PTA, and Radiology Technology
- The deadline will remain May 1st for Dental Hygiene in order for the new cohort to start Term 2 Summer Semester.
- Scores from standardized tests (HESI,TEAS VI, PSB) will be waived for this admission season only.
- Observation hours for Dental Hygiene and PTA will be waived for this admission season only.
- Applicants will be ranked and admitted based on cumulative GPA in pre-req coursework.

Limited Labs

Below are the limited lab guidelines that faculty and students must follow for classes meeting in person between March 13, 2020 and July 25, 2020. All persons participating in limited labs on campus must also sign the below waiver.
