SCMA 1007 Basics of Negotiations

Negotiation is a process in which two or more parties with common and conflicting interests come together to put forth and discuss explicit proposals for the purpose of reaching agreement. This course will explore the concept of negotiation in both the national and international environments. Attention will be paid to topics such as strategies and tactics, non- verbal communication, and ethical and cultural aspects. Other forms of dispute resolution used in business, such as mediation and arbitration will also be addressed, and the design of conflict management programs will be examined.
