Radiologic Technologist Assistant TCC (Major Code: RT21)

Program Description

The Radiologic Technician Assistant program places emphasis on maintaining adequate supplies in exam rooms, handling of oxygen tanks, ability to process CR & DR, knowledge of PACS system, transporting patients to/from all imaging areas, greeting patients and assist in preparing the patients for exams, preparation of the examination rooms, and dismissing the patient after the exam is completed giving any special instructions needed.

Program Admission Requirements

  • Submit a completed application and application fee to the college

  • Be at least 17 years of age

  • Submit official high school transcript or High School Equivalency transcript or college transcripts showing successful completion of 60+ semester credits or 72+ quarter credits

  • Submit official college transcripts, if applicable

  • American Heart Association Provider CPR Certification, physical examination, up-to-date immunizations and health requirements for clinical sites, criminal background check and drug screen required prior to start of clinical rotation.

Blood and Airborne Pathogens

Students enrolled in Category I and II programs at Atlanta Technical College will be performing tasks in which there is a normal occurrence for exposure to blood, other potentially infectious body materials, and airborne pathogens.

These tasks will be performed in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical activities for each occupational training program/course. Students will be required to present documentation of Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis immunizations as a result of potential occupational exposure. Students should contact their program directors for more information.
