Attendance to an in-person Central Sterile Supply Processing Technician Advanced TCC Information Session is a requirement for admission. These sessions will be held on the main campus, located at 1560 Metropolitan Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30310, in the Brenda Watts-Jones Health Complex (Building H), in room H226.
Attendance to the entire session is required for the student to receive credit. Doors will open at 9:45am. Doors will close at 10am and no students will be permitted admittance after the start time. Please be early.
For Spring 2025 application consideration, only the information session dates listed below will be accepted.

Program Description
The Central Sterile Supply Processing Technician Advanced Technical Certificate of Credit is designed to provide entry-level training that will prepare graduates to function in the sterile supply processing and distribution areas of healthcare facilities. The program is based on theory and clinical instruction that will apply scientific principles to the specific work area. Theory classes with laboratory participatory classes will prepare students for clinical application of skills and knowledge in healthcare facilities. Together with practical experiences, provide students with the preparation necessary to be eligible to sit for the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) certification exam.

- Applications submitted before the first information session of the semester will not be accepted. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
- The cohort placement is on “first come , first served” basis with submission of program ready form(application and all required documents).
- Students are responsible for ensuring all transcripts are received by the college and evaluated by the college registrar’s office before the application deadline.
- Unaccepted students may apply for the next semester, the student must submit a new CSSP Program application for the next application period.
- International students must reside in the state of Georgia. Classes and clinicals are in-person and may have online assignments.. To successfully complete the course requirements all students must be able to attend in-person classes and clinicals.
- The CSSP team is not responsible for resolving students having IT issues, issuing student ID badges or email addresses. Please contact the ATC help desk or student services.
- The leadership of ATC requires this program to maintain fairness to all students regrading admission to the CSSP program.
- The CSSP program cannot make exceptions for missing deadline due to IT issues, student email issues, ability to pay fees associated with acceptance to the program, missing or pending vaccines/immunizations and other matters that prohibit student from meeting the deadline.
- The CSSP program cannot make copied of documents for students. Enrolled students may use the campus library to scan and email documents.

The drug screen and background check must be submitted through Advantage Students website. Please use this link to register for Advantage Students: https://app.advantagestudents.com/login.
Students must login and enroll with their ATC email address (personal emails will not be accepted) to utilize the platform, and it is the students’ responsibility to pay for Advantage services.
NOTE: Advantage Students does not share information with the college or program.
The “American Heart Association” is the only accepted vendor the program will honor for the CPR requirement.
All required documents must be provided in ONE complete submission (no exceptions). Documents can be submitted via email in a PDF format utilizing their ATC email address, or the student can bring a clean copy of documents to H218-C in the BWJC on or before the submission deadline announced in the information sessions.
NOTE: All students must be admitted to ATC and enrolled with a student email address.

Vaccinations
Some vaccines may require multiples doses or a booster. Multiple dose vaccines may require 28-to-30 days before the next dose can be administered.
Students with background checks and drug screens that are not clean may be denied acceptance to clinical sites. Drug screens and background checks may take up 7-14 days.
Clinical site partners reserve the right to deny any student accepted into the program based on their organization’s criteria. This is a mandate from the clinical sites and not Atlanta Technical College.

Statement Regarding Vaccines and Immunizations
Students are required to follow the medical clearance policies designated by their assigned clinical and/or practicum sites. Please be aware that some clinical/practicum sites mandate vaccinations against specific diseases such as COVID-19, influenza and/or testing for specific diseases such as tuberculosis. If you elect not to be vaccinated or tested, you will not be allowed to attend those clinical/practicum sites. If you do not have all required immunizations and tests, you will have limited access to clinical/practicum sites. This will delay or prevent program completion.
Although vaccines are not required for program admission, each clinical/practicum site reserves the right to deny a student entry based on their own policies and procedures. If a student is denied entry to a clinical/practicum site based on lack of vaccinations or testing, the student will not be able to complete the clinical/practicum course. As a result, successful completion of the program will not be possible. Please see individual program materials for information regarding specific vaccine and testing requirements.
Readmission Policy
Students who are not successful in their first attempt or withdraw for medical reason can attempt readmission based on the program admittance policy. Readmission is not guaranteed and is a one-time readmission with the following condition. Students that completed CSSP 1010 greater than one semester; but did not continue to CSSP 1020 and CSSP 1022 must complete an assessment and pass with a score of 70% or greater. Student that are returning to CSSP 1020 and CSSP 1020 , please note available clinical slots are dependent on our clinical partners ability to accommodate students. Availability variations may change without advance notice to ATC.

Blood and Airborne Pathogens
Students enrolled in Category I and II programs at Atlanta Technical College will be performing tasks in which there is a normal occurrence for exposure to blood, other potentially infectious body materials, and airborne pathogens.
These tasks will be performed in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical activities for each occupational training program/course. Students will be required to present documentation of Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis immunizations as a result of potential occupational exposure. Students should contact their program directors for more information. ATC accepts various forms of financial aid which may be applied to cover cost of tuition and other fees depending on regulations associated with funding. The CSSP courses are currently offered daytime only and in consecutive terms. CSSP 1010 is offered first term on campus. CSSP 1020 and CSSP 1022 are offered together in the second term as a hybrid course off campus at the clinical site and web-based assignments. The courses cannot broken up and must be take in sequential order from one term to the following term. For students to progress from CSSP 1010 to CSSP 1020 and CSSP 1022, a minimum grade of C must be achieved in the CSSP 1010.
