Information Technology Fundamentals
Program Description
The Information Technology Fundamentals is a single semester set of courses designed to provide students with an understanding of the basic concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing. Graduates are to be competent in the technical field areas of computer technology and concepts, as well as either basic program design, computer networking or web design.

Computer related employment in Georgia is projected to increase by 13.2% by 2024 adding over 18,000 new jobs.
Education Programs
The Information Technology Fundamentals TCC has been developed to give students a certificate and to encourage them to continue in the Computer Science field of study. This TCC is available to all Computer Information Students after they complete their first or second semester.
Job/Career Description
This TCC is an entry level certificate that gives students the opportunity to be successful in their first semester of college. They will have successfully completed the first ten semester credit hours and will be well on their way to a more advanced TCC, diploma, or degree.
Admissions Requirements
Must be 16 years of age
Completion of high school diploma or GED and submission of official transcript required to apply
Achievement of minimum program admission scores in Reading, English, and Math
Transfer of previous post-secondary credits will be determined by the Office of Enrollment Services
Student Performance/Graduation Requirements
Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses to graduate.

3. Working knowledge of basic business office software including: word process applications, Database Applications, Spreadsheet Applications, and Presentation Applications
4. Program Design and Development choice: Define Problem Solving and Programming Concepts
5. Program Design and Development choice: Develop Structured Solutions Using the Three Logic Structures
6. Program Design and Development choice: Develop Structured Solutions Utilizing File Processing Concepts
7. Computer Networking Fundamentals choice: Define and understand Networking Technologies, Network Media and Topology, and Network Devices
8. Computer Networking Fundamentals choice: Define and understand Network Management, Network Tools and Network Security
9. Web Development choice: Develop Web Pages with HTML, CSS, and XML
10. Web Development choice: Implement Graphical Elements, Hyperlinks, Tables, forms and image maps
