Program Description
The Business Technology program is designed to prepare graduates for employment in a variety of positions in today's technology-driven workplaces. The program provides learning opportunities, which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications software. Students are also introduced to accounting fundamentals, electronic communications, internet research, and electronic file management. The program includes instruction in effective communication skills and terminology that encompasses office management and executive assistant qualification and technology innovations for the office. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of administrative technology. Graduates of the program receive a Business Technology Associate of Applied Science degree.

Program Outcomes
1. Graduates will be able to develop and deliver professional and oral and written communication using technology that are appropriate to the topic, audience, and situation.
2. Graduates will be able to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills by identifying, understanding, and applying basic theories, terminology, and practices to office operations.
3. Graduates will be able to use technology to input, manage, and interpret information and to solve business problems in a variety of situations.
4. Graduates will be able to demonstrate proficiency with evolving office and productivity software.
5. Graduates will be able to demonstrate understanding of the basic financial accounting concepts of the complete accounting cycle and the necessary skills to maintain a set of books for a business.
6. Graduates will be able to understand the business operations including financial management, marketing, and enterprise management in a global economy.
7. Graduates will be able to demonstrate advanced skills within selected specialization (i.e., office management, customer service, human resources, social media, or project management).
