Visual Effects Artist TCC
Program Description (Major Code: VEA1)
The Visual Effects Artist program is an introduction to the software used to create motion graphics, visual effects, as well as 2D and 3D elements used in post-production. Students will learn basic Adobe Photoshop and Blender, and advanced Adobe after Effects with an emphasis on creating material that integrates 2D and 3D design elements, as well as visual effects, with live footage. Students also learn to shoot and key green screen footage, then replace the background with set extensions. The classes within the certificate program also apply toward the degree and diploma program.
Admissions Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age
- Completion of high school diploma or GED and submission of official transcript required to apply
- Achievement of minimum program admission scores in Reading, English, and Math
- Transfer of previous post-secondary credits will be determined by the Office of Enrollment Services
Student Performance/Graduation Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses to graduate.
