Program Description
Social media marketing centers on efforts to create and distribute content through social media outlets that attracts attention and encourages readers to share it with their social network. This technical certificate of credit program outlines the fundamentals of computer/ internet use, marketing and promotion, and social media marketing. Marketing through social media has become increasingly popular, and this TCC will allow students to examine the fundamentals of this growing phenomenon.
Job/Career Description
A Social Media Specialist will participate in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social book marking, commenting, etc., to create a comprehensive social media strategy to define programs that use social media marketing techniques to increase visibility , membership and traffic across websites. Social media marketers should be able to think strategically, but also to be willing to roll up their sleeves to help implement the programs. This occupation requires interaction with both management teams and others across a company on incorporating relevant social media techniques into corporate culture and into all of a company's products and services.
Admissions Requirements
Must be 16 years of age
Completion of high school diploma or GED and submission of official transcript required to apply
Achievement of minimum program admission scores in Reading, English, and Math
Transfer of previous post-secondary credits will be determined by the Office of Enrollment Services
Student Performance/Graduation Requirements
Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses to graduate.
